Overview

Agrostis pallens, commonly known as seashore bentgrass, is a hardy and attractive grass species perfect for your home garden. This grass thrives in coastal environments but can also be grown successfully inland if you provide the right conditions.

Growing Conditions

Seashore bentgrass prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade exposure. It grows best in areas with moderate temperatures, making it a suitable choice for most climates. Ensure your garden has good air circulation to prevent fungal diseases.

Planting & Care

Plant seashore bentgrass seeds directly into the ground after the last frost of spring. The seeds should be sown about 1/8 inch deep and 6 inches apart. Water the area regularly until the seedlings are established, then reduce watering frequency as needed.

This grass requires minimal maintenance; simply mow it to your desired height using a lawn mower or scissors. It can tolerate some foot traffic but is not ideal for high-traffic areas.
